Servo decoder S4-Car
Built and tested
This S4-Car servo decoder is equipped with 4 relays and can therefore be used if feedback from the servo position is desired or if, for example, a direction indicator function is required so that the DC-Car cars automatically indicate direction when deflecting (in collaboration with the Function building block SW).
This Servo decoder has connections for 4 servos that can each take 2 positions and is suitable for DCC or Motorola format. The print has a serial RS232 connection for programming the servo positions and functions via the PC through the free Servo Decoder Program.
Functionality:
Switches, arm lights, level crossings, doors etc. can be operated with each of the servos. By using servos, the annoying click during switching and burning out of the coils when the end cut-off no longer works is eliminated. The servos are also quieter than many motor drives.
A major advantage is that the servos can be mounted on the track in a suitable or easily accessible place. In this way entire alternating streets can be built without annoying coil drives.
The armlights or railway trees show an exceptionally realistic impression when the "Nachfedern" is switched on. This simulates the mechanical fluttering effect of the arm signal or the rail boom.
The following settings can be made with software:
• Servo manufacture
• What is operated with the servo
• Pulse shape (positive or negative)
• Switch off the power after reaching the end position
• Left and right end position
• Turn speed to the left
• Turn speed to the right
• Sway left and / or right
• Number of repetitive movements
• Direction of rotation of the servos
The decoder works with the DCC or Motoroal protocol and can therefore be connected to any DCC or Motorola central unit. The control is also the same as those of the magnet article decoders of other brands.
